Net-zero community center for the
Skokomish Indian Tribe

Ecotope provided mechanical engineering and energy modeling for the Skokomish Tribe’s new community center. This building houses a gymnasium, fitness facilities, gathering hall, commercial kitchen, elder space, offices, and meeting rooms.  Ecotope’s design included:

    • Air-source heat pumps
    • Room-by-room energy recovery ventilators 
    • Natural ventilation
    • Photovoltaic array on the roof

The Results

    • Net-zero energy usage while maximizing comfort, control, energy efficiency, and indoor air quality.
    • Winner – 2018 ASHRAE Regional Technology Award, Public Assembly
